Settings

In Settings you decide who GENI is for you: what it is called, how it writes, what it pays attention to and which notifications you get.

You open the screen via the gear icon in the navigation menu. It has five tabs: Profile, AI Assistant, Telegram, Notifications and Privacy and export.

What you can set here, and what you cannot

Your connections to external services are not here but under Connectors, and you manage your memories on the Memory page.

AI Assistant, the tab that matters most

This is where you shape how GENI behaves.

Name. Give your assistant its own name. It uses that everywhere, including in Telegram.

Communication style. Four choices that make a noticeable difference:

Focus areas. Tick what is relevant to you: productivity, sales, health, marketing, creative, finance, planning or research.

Personal instructions. Free text GENI always follows. For example: "Answer in bullet points, never in long paragraphs" or "Use a professional tone for emails".

Knowledge document. The profile created during the intake. GENI loads it in every conversation. You can read and edit it here.

What you see

You set the style to Direct and add the instruction "Answer in bullet points". Then you ask something you would normally get a paragraph for:

• You have 3 emails that need action
• The De Vries quote expires Friday
• Tomorrow 10:00 is free, the rest of the day is booked

The same question on Detailed gives the same information in flowing sentences with context. The setting changes the form, not the substance.

Telegram

Here you see which Telegram account is connected, and you can reactivate the assistant if something went wrong. If you have the own-bot option, you enter your own bot token here.

Telegram is an optional extra; you never need it. See Connecting Telegram.

Privacy and export

• Export data, you receive a full export by email
• Delete account, your account, memories, conversations and files are permanently erased

Account deletion is irreversible. There is no recovery after confirmation.

Limits

• A style change applies from the next message, not retroactively in a running conversation.
• Project instructions take precedence. If you work inside a project with its own instructions, those outweigh your general settings.
• Changing your email address requires confirmation from your new address.
• Settings are per user. There is no shared team configuration.
• The knowledge document is overwritten if you redo the intake.

Troubleshooting

GENI does not follow your instruction. Make it more concrete. "Be shorter" is vague; "at most 150 words" is testable. If something contradictory sits in your memory, that often wins, because it is more specific.

Your style change seems to do nothing. Check whether you are in a project with its own instructions; those take precedence.

The name does not change in Telegram. Reconnect Telegram and the name comes along.

You cannot find the Integrations tab. It no longer exists. Connections live under Connectors.

You cannot find your memories. Those are on the dedicated Memory page, not in Settings.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between personal instructions and the knowledge document? Instructions are about how GENI answers, the knowledge document about who you are. Short and behavioural belongs in instructions; background belongs in the knowledge document.

How many memories can I keep? That depends on your plan, from 100 on Free and Starter up to 5,000 on Business. At the limit GENI archives the least important ones itself. See Memory.

Can I have several assistants with different styles? Yes, through projects. Each project has its own instructions. See Projects.

What happens to my data if I cancel? Cancelling is not the same as deleting. Your account remains until you delete it yourself under Privacy and export.
