The Workspace is your central place for notes, tasks and planning, seamlessly connected to GENI. Everything you capture and everything your assistant does for you comes together here.
You will find the Workspace in the dashboard sidebar, under Workspace.
What can you do with it?
The Workspace has three tabs:
| Tab | For |
|---|---|
| Notes | Quickly capture anything: text, with folders and tags, searchable |
| To-dos | To-do lists with priority and due date, check them off, plus tasks GENI suggests |
| Timeline | A view over time of your tasks, reminders and what GENI publishes and schedules |
Notes
Capture what you do not want to forget, all in one place. Type a note in the quick capture bar at the top, or open a note for the full editor with a title, tags and a folder.
- Folders , organize notes per project or topic.
- Tags , label notes so you find them back easily.
- Search , search through titles, content and tags.
- Pin , keep important notes at the top.
- Discuss with GENI , send a note to the chat in one click to work on it together.
You can also save any assistant message as a note in one click (the notebook icon under a message).
To-dos
To-dos are checkable tasks, separate from scheduled Automations. Each task has a priority (low, normal, high) and an optional due date.
- Quickly add a task with the input bar at the top.
- Check tasks off when they are done.
- Under Suggested by GENI you will find tasks your assistant staged for you, which you accept or dismiss.
GENI and your workspace
GENI knows your open tasks and reminders and can manage your workspace from the chat. For example, ask:
- "Save a note about the call with the supplier."
- "Add a task: call the bank, tomorrow, high priority."
- "Where did I write something about the new website?"
- "Turn these loose ideas into a plan." , GENI stages a prioritized task plan that you approve.
Let GENI suggest tasks automatically
In Settings you can enable GENI to detect action items from your conversations and stage them as suggested tasks in your workspace. This option is off by default, you stay in control and always approve suggested tasks yourself.
Smart features (from Starter)
The Workspace has an AI layer that helps you capture and find things faster:
- Semantic search , search by meaning, not just exact words. Type a question in the search bar (or ask GENI) and you find the right note even without the same words.
- Similar notes , inside an open note you automatically see earlier notes that relate to it.
- AI tags , let GENI suggest fitting tags based on the content, in one click.
- Voice notes , speak your note; GENI transcribes it and saves it straight to your workspace.
What it costs
Notes and tasks are free on every plan. The AI features (semantic search, AI tags, voice notes and GENI driving your workspace) are available from Starter. Voice notes cost a small number of credits per recording; search and tags are included.
What you see
You throw a messy thought into the chat and ask for a plan:
Make a plan out of these loose ideas: redo the website, De Vries quote,
VAT return, find a new photographer, revise prices
I turned them into five tasks and ordered them by urgency:
Task Priority Due File VAT return High 25 August Finish De Vries quote High 8 August Revise prices Normal , Find a photographer Normal , Redo the website Low , The VAT return is at the top because of the statutory deadline. They are under Suggested by GENI; accept or reject them.
They arrive as a proposal, not as fact. You approve.
Limits
- Suggested tasks never become active on their own. You accept or reject them.
- Automatic task detection is off by default. You switch it on yourself in Settings.
- Notes and tasks are per user. There is no shared workspace for a team.
- The Timeline shows, it does not schedule. To have something actually executed, use Scheduled tasks.
- The AI layer sits in Starter and up. On Free notes and tasks work fine, just without semantic search, AI tags and voice.
- A deleted note is gone. There is no bin.
Troubleshooting
GENI cannot find your note. Search on meaning rather than an exact word ("what did I write about the new website?"). On Free semantic search is unavailable, so there you do have to hit the words.
No suggested tasks appear. The option is off by default. Switch it on in Settings.
A voice note is transcribed poorly. Background noise and people talking over each other make it hard. Speak briefly and close to the microphone.
Tasks from an engine audit do not show up. Only audits with concrete issues produce tasks; a clean audit yields none.
Your note is in the wrong folder. Open it and change the folder in the editor.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a task and a scheduled task? A Workspace task is a to-do you tick off. A scheduled task is work GENI executes itself at a set time. See Scheduled tasks.
Can GENI use my notes as knowledge? Yes, it searches them when relevant. For whole documents use the knowledge base.
Does the Workspace work per project? Notes and tasks sit on your account. To keep work strictly separated per client, use Projects for the conversations.
Does a note cost credits? No. Only the AI features use credits, and search and tags are included in that.
