The problem for SMEs is not a shortage of ideas

Ask a small business owner what keeps slipping and the list is roughly the same everywhere. The website has not been updated in a while. Something should really be written every month. Asking for reviews happens when someone remembers. The quote that should have gone out on Monday goes out on Thursday.

That is rarely down to unwillingness or a lack of plans. It is down to this being exactly the work that is not urgent until it is too late, in a business where everyone is already full. A large organisation solves that with a marketing department. For a company of five or fifty people that is not a realistic option.

What dGENIX is

dGENIX is a platform with GENI, an AI assistant that does not only answer but carries out work. You say or type what needs to happen, GENI works out which steps that takes and sets them in motion. Underneath sit three things: over sixty skills that each handle a concrete task, five Growth Engines that measure and improve your visibility and reputation, and connections to the tools you already use.

A fuller introduction is in What is dGENIX. This article is about what that means in practice for a small or medium business.

Four things it takes over straight away

Keeping track of your visibility. The SEO Engine and the GEO Engine measure where you rank in Google and whether AI assistants mention you when someone asks for advice in your field. They do not deliver a report you have to interpret, but a list of what is broken and what fixing it is worth.

Content that otherwise never happens. The Authority Engine draws up a topic map for your field and writes a draft per subject. You read it over and decide whether it goes out. Nothing is published without your approval.

Collecting reviews. The Reputation Engine sends a polite request with a direct link to your Google profile after a completed job, with an opt-out. That is the difference between twenty reviews from three years ago and a steady stream of fresh ones.

Recurring work. Think of a weekly summary of your inbox, a monthly report, or a standing check on whether anything changed in your positions. You set it up once and it runs.

It works with the tools you already have

An assistant that keeps everything in its own environment adds another place where information lives. That is why dGENIX connects to what you already use: mail and calendar, your documents, your bookkeeping, your CRM, your social channels. Through the skill marketplace you switch on what you need, and the connectors and integrations make the connection.

There is also an open route for your own tools. If something runs internally with no ready-made connector, it can still be plugged in. That is what What is MCP is about.

It remembers how your business works

The difference between a chatbot and an assistant is memory. GENI remembers what you tell it about your business: what you do, for whom, what tone you keep, which agreements apply. Next time you do not have to explain it again.

There is also a workspace where notes, tasks and the results of earlier work sit together, so a question from last month has not disappeared. More on that in Workspace and memory.

What it is not

Honesty works better here than a long list of promises.

  • It does not replace skilled people. It takes over the work nobody enjoys and that therefore never gets done.
  • It publishes nothing behind your back. Everything that goes out, you approve.
  • It does not deliver results in a week. Building visibility takes months, and anyone promising otherwise is measuring something else.
  • It is not an IT project. You do not need a developer to get started.

Frequently asked questions

How long does setup take? Most of it sits in the first session where you explain what your business does and which tools you use. After that you work in ordinary sentences and you do not have to configure anything you do not need yet.

Do I have to switch everything on at once? No, and it is better not to. Start with one engine and one or two skills that solve something you are struggling with now. Expanding can always come later.

Is it suitable for sole traders? Yes. Precisely with a one-person business there is nobody to hand this work to, so the effect is often largest there.

What does it cost? There are several plans, from a free entry level to packages for businesses running on it daily. See pricing and plans.

What your week could look like

Monday morning there is an overview of what came in over the weekend and what is scheduled this week. Midweek the SEO Engine reports that one of your key pages dropped a few positions and why. You ask GENI for a draft article on the subject customers ask you about most, and read it over on Friday. Meanwhile last week's customers have been asked for a review, and three have come in. None of that was on your list, and it happened anyway.

Starting without a big decision

For most small and medium businesses the question is not whether AI can mean something, but where on earth you start without it becoming a project. The answer is usually: with the work that has been slipping for months and that you know is costing you customers. Start there, let it run, and only expand once the first piece has proved its worth. That is a considerably smaller step than most people think, and it is the only way changes like this stick in a busy business.
