Skills and workflow automations: from single task to self-driving process

One skill saves time, stacked they do your work. Here is how you build self-running workflows with GENI in dGENIX.
The promise of AI is simple: less manual work, more results. Yet most AI tools stop at loose answers that you then have to carry out yourself. dGENIX takes a different approach. Your AI assistant GENI becomes as powerful as the skills you give it, and you stack those skills into workflows that run themselves. This article explains what skills are, how you combine them into workflow automations, and how you turn loose tasks into a self-driving process.
What exactly is a skill?
A skill is a modular building block: a well-defined capability that GENI runs for you. Think of managing email, scheduling appointments, researching leads, repurposing content, transcribing audio or drafting a proposal. Each skill knows exactly which steps are needed and which tool or service to use for them.
In the Skills Marketplace you will find 60+ skills across two categories: personal (your daily work, such as inbox and calendar) and business (sales, marketing, support and more). Some skills are always included, like research and web search, so GENI can search and compare sources out of the box. New skills are added every month, and if one is missing you simply request it; dGENIX builds it and adds it to the marketplace.
How you activate a skill: one click
Turning on a skill takes literally one click. You open the marketplace, pick the skill that matches what you want to achieve and activate it. Skills that need an external tool (like Gmail or HubSpot) ask you to make that connection once; after that GENI remembers it. You activate only what you need, so you never pay for capabilities you leave untouched.
From single skill to workflow automation
One skill saves time. Stacked, they do your work. A workflow automation is a sequence of skills GENI runs back to back, where the output of one step becomes the input of the next. An example from sales:
- Lead Research finds the prospect and their company
- LinkedIn Outreach Copilot writes a personal, relevant message
- HubSpot logs the lead in your pipeline with the right status
That becomes a lead pipeline that fills itself, instead of three separate actions you repeat every time. And it works just as well for content: an SEO audit becomes winning topics, becomes a draft in your CMS, becomes an email report in your inbox.
What makes it special is how you drive it. You say in plain language what you want to achieve, for example "research these ten companies and put the warm leads in my CRM". GENI then plans the steps, runs them, checks the result and delivers, with a full log of what it did. You keep the overview, GENI does the work.
Examples per team
- Sales: from a name to a personalised cold email, with the lead automatically in your CRM.
- Marketing: an engine audit that turns into an article, an image and social posts, ready to schedule.
- Support: inbox triage that categorises messages, drafts replies and forwards only the tricky questions to you.
- Freelancers and founders: a daily plan every morning, a weekly report every Friday, built from your own Gmail and Sheets.
Because you combine skills freely, you build exactly the process that fits your work, without a developer or a complex automation platform.
Does it run automatically, without me?
Yes. You can put any workflow on a schedule: daily, on weekdays, weekly or monthly. GENI then runs it on its own, even when you are offline or asleep. Afterwards you get a notification with the result. That turns recurring work into something that just happens, leaving you time for the things that really matter.
Importing existing n8n workflows
Already working with n8n? Then you do not have to rebuild anything. With the Workflow Builder you import your existing n8n JSON and let GENI run the workflow in one go, as part of your assistant. That brings existing automations and your AI assistant together in one place.
What does it cost and how do I stay in control?
Skills are included with your plan; you activate only what you need. Every action uses credits, one transparent unit of account, so you see exactly what you spend. Costly actions ask for confirmation first, so nothing expensive ever happens unnoticed. On the pricing page you can see how many credits each plan includes and what comes with it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need technical knowledge? No. You drive everything in plain language. GENI translates your instruction into the right steps.
Can I request a skill myself? Yes. If a skill is missing, you submit a request; dGENIX builds it and adds it to the marketplace.
What if a step goes wrong? GENI checks its own work and keeps a log of every step. You see what happened and always keep final control.
