Stackable AI Skills Explained: 60+ Modular Capabilities

A skill is a modular unit of AI capability. Stack them and you get workflows that would take months to build with traditional tools. Here is how stackable skills work in dGENIX.

What is a stackable AI skill?

A skill is a self-contained module that defines what GENI can do in a specific domain: the instructions, context, tools and permissions it needs for a category of tasks.

The Gmail skill reads, writes and searches your inbox. The Calendar skill schedules and checks conflicts. The Social Media skill writes and formats posts per platform. Each skill does one thing well. That is the point.

Why not just switch everything on

The obvious question: if skills are included in your plan anyway, why not activate them all?

Because GENI only uses what is switched on, and that is a feature rather than a limitation. An assistant with sixty active capabilities has sixty possible routes for every question. An assistant with the eight you need chooses faster and more precisely.

There is a practical side too. Every skill that can act outwardly is a skill you have to trust. Switching on only what you use keeps the overview, and makes it easier to see where credits go.

What makes skills stackable?

Skills combine: together they deliver more than each on its own. That is the modular AI model, and it is how GENI builds a full workflow.

What those three have in common: you ask for an outcome, not for a sequence of steps. You do not say "use skill A, then skill B". You say what needs to happen, and GENI picks which capabilities to use.

How that plays out in practice

Take a concrete request: schedule a call with the client who emailed about our pricing last week, and bring my notes.

There are four steps in there you never spell out. GENI searches your inbox for that email, works out who the client is, checks your calendar for slots that fit, and pulls the notes attached to that client from your workspace. What you get back is a proposed slot plus a short summary of what is going on.

Without stacking this would be four separate actions across three screens. That is the gain: not that each skill is impressive on its own, but that the transitions between them disappear.

What a skill costs

Skills carry no separate monthly fee. Your plan decides the level from which a skill becomes available; usage is charged in credits per action.

The differences are large, and that makes sense. A daily overview costs 3 credits because GENI composes it itself. Writing a social post costs 2. Looking up a place on the map costs 300, because real map data sits behind it. In-depth research with eight sub-questions runs into the thousands.

The practical consequence: the skills you use all day are nearly free, and the expensive actions are the ones you already know are heavy. The price is on the button before you press it.

Custom skills: package your knowledge

Alongside the library, dGENIX supports custom skills that package your organisation's own processes and rules into a reusable module. A firm builds a document review skill on its own templates. A sales team builds a prospect scoring skill on its ideal customer profile. That is when a generic assistant becomes your assistant.

Why modular beats monolithic

Most AI platforms are monolithic: one interface, one fixed set of features, pay for everything. Modular AI is different. You build exactly the capability you need by stacking the skills that fit, add a new one without rebuilding anything, and remove what you do not use.

Where stacking meets its limits

Two things to know before expecting everything to run by itself.

A chain is as strong as its weakest link. If the data in your CRM is wrong, a workflow reading from it produces a tidy answer that is factually wrong. Automation speeds up what is there, it does not correct it.

Long chains need a checkpoint. Five steps back to back without a look in between means an error in step two only surfaces in the final result. For chains that push something outward, build in a moment where you look, and keep that moment even when things go well.

Start with your biggest time sink. Most teams begin with Gmail plus Calendar for communication, Social Media plus Short Generator for content, or Lead Research plus HubSpot for sales.
